Compass Healthcare Collaborative Names Chris Evans as Chief Executive Officer

DES MOINES, Iowa — August 26, 2026 — The Board of Directors of Compass Healthcare Collaborative has named Christopher T. Evans, MHA, FACHE, as Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1, 2026. Evans currently serves as Compass's Chief Operating Officer and will succeed founding President and CEO Tom Evans, MD, who has led the organization for more than two decades. 

The appointment follows a comprehensive national search led by an independent executive search firm and the Compass Board of Directors. 

“Chris knows our organization, our people, our partners, and our mission,” said Mike Romano, MD, Chair of the Compass Board of Directors. “Throughout the search process, he demonstrated a strong commitment to what makes Compass special today while providing a clear vision for its future. The Board has complete trust in his ability to lead Compass into its next chapter."

Before joining Compass, Evans held leadership roles with CHI Health spanning hospital administration, ambulatory leadership, health-system operations, and enterprise service line leadership. At Compass, Evans has led organizational strategy and transformation, strengthened operational and financial infrastructure, and helped position the organization for growth in an evolving healthcare environment.

Romano also recognized Tom Evans for more than two decades of healthcare leadership. He has been instrumental in building Compass into a trusted healthcare partner focused on improving quality, patient safety, and value.
