2026 Iowa Diabetes + Wellness Summit

Healthcare professionals from across Iowa will have an opportunity to connect, learn, and explore current approaches to diabetes prevention and management at the 2026 Iowa Diabetes + Wellness Summit, taking place on November 18 in Ankeny.

The annual Summit brings together healthcare professionals and experts from a variety of disciplines to share practical strategies, emerging approaches, and resources for supporting people living with or at risk for diabetes.

Diabetes prevention and management require a coordinated approach that considers the many factors influencing a person's health. This year's Summit will explore a broad range of topics relevant to professionals working across healthcare and community settings.

Sessions will cover topics including:

• Supporting patients with Gestational diabetes
• Making diabetes-friendly nutrition more affordable and accessible
• Community approaches to obesity and diabetes prevention
• Advances in diabetes technology
• The relationship between cortisol and difficult-to-manage Type 2 diabetes
• Types of diabetes and available treatment options

The variety of topics offers attendees an opportunity to expand their knowledge while gaining practical information they can bring back to the patients, organizations, and communities they serve.

Beyond educational sessions, the Summit provides an opportunity for professionals from different areas of healthcare to come together around a shared goal: improving diabetes prevention, treatment, and overall wellness.

The 2026 Iowa Diabetes + Wellness Summit will be held Wednesday, November 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the FFA Enrichment Center in Ankeny, Iowa.

The event is designed for professionals involved in diabetes prevention, treatment, and management, including physicians, nurses, diabetes educators, dietitians, pharmacists, public health professionals, and other members of the healthcare team.

Registration is $75 for professionals and $25 for students.
